Wat Phra Thong, Phuket

Thailand's wonder temple, which was constructed almost a millennium ago, offers a thrilling experience of mystery and beliefs. The temple, also called Wat Phra Phud, or "the temple of protruding Buddha," is home to an extraordinary half-buried statue of Lord Buddha.
According to history, King Rama 6 once visited the unusual Buddha statue that appears to have stopped midway while rising from the earth for several reasons. The story of the farmer child who attempted to tie his buffalo with an odd device and died shortly after, along with the animal, is one of the well-known explanations for its unusual structure. But after having a dream about the incident, the father proceeded to investigate the building, which he discovered to be the partially buried statue of Lord Buddha.
