Wat Chalong

It honors two Buddhist monks and was constructed at the start of the nineteenth century. When Chinese tin miners revolted in 1876, the people were led by two monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Cho Chuang.

The expansive temple complex, Wat Chaithararam, is a prime example of traditional Thai architecture and contains a number of religious buildings. A piece of Buddha's bone, a revered relic, is inside the chedi. Buddha's life tale is also portrayed in several statues and wall murals around the vast temple complex.

Wat Chalong’s grand pagoda houses a sacred relic believed to be a fragment of the Buddha’s bone, adding to its religious significance. Visitors come here to explore the peaceful temple grounds, admire the stunning architecture, and pay respect to the revered monks and Buddha statues. It is a center of spiritual practice and cultural heritage that offers insight into Thailand’s Buddhist traditions and history.
