Horton Plains National Park

Horton Plains National Park is one of the scenic and biodiverse plateaus in the nation of Sri Lanka and is found in the Nuwara Eliya District. The park has misty grasslands, cloud forests, falling streams, and spectacular drops of cliffs such as World's End, sitting more than 2,000 metres above sea level. It is a UNESCO world heritage site which is characterised by the rich wildlife, sambars, purple-faced langurs, and rare highland birds.

The climate is low all year round, which will be a refreshing change from the tropical lowlands. Majority of the travellers visit to hike the popular 9.5 km Circular Trail that takes them to great viewpoints like World's End and Baker's Falls. Horton Plains is the place where nature, adventure and tranquillity blend in a unique way with panoramas of the sunrise, fresh mountain air and relaxing walking tracks. It is a must-visit place for nature lovers, trekkers, photographers and any other person who needs to have a peaceful retreat in the hill country of Sri Lanka.
