For years, Indian citizens had to undergo a slightly cumbersome visa process to enter the country. That now has changed, as of May 2025, Indian passport holders can now visit the Philippines under two visa-free categories, along with an easy-to-use E-Visa system for longer or special purpose stays.
Let’s break it down.
1. 14-Day Visa Free Entry For All Indian Passport Holders
The Philippines has granted 14-day visa-free access to all Indian passport holders, regardless of their visa history or residence status in other countries. This means you can now book a flight and explore the Filipino islands for up to two weeks without worrying about applying for a visa in advance.
Important Highlights:
- No prior visa required
- 14 Days permitted
- Return/onward flight ticket and proof of accommodation recommended
This move is expected to boost tourism and foster stronger people-to-people ties between India and the Philippines, a country that has long been admired for its warm hospitality, stunning islands and unique culture.
2. 30-Day Visa-Free Entry For Eligible Travellers
In addition to the 14-day general provision, there’s even more good news for Indian citizens holding valid visas or permanent residency from specific countries.
These are the countries whose travellers are a part of these countries:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Schengen Countries
- Australia
- Japan
- Singaporeans have been allowed to stay in the Philippines visa-free for 30 days.
This includes Indian nationals who are permanent residents, temporary workers, or even students in these countries, making the Philippines a perfect stopover or extended vacation destination during your breaks or international travel plans.
3. Fully Implemented E Visa Systems For Longer Stays
For those people who want to stay in the Philippines for more than 30 days for purposes like tourism, medical visits, or anything else, they can take advantage of the new fully implemented e-visa systems, which are now fully operational in India too.
You can now apply for a 9(a) temporary visitor visa directly through the official website.
How It Works:
- Fill out the application form.
- Upload the required documents.
- Pay the visa fee via bank transfer.
- Received the approved visa by email.
The processing time usually takes around 3-5 days and the system being digital makes the entire process easy and one the most secure ways to get a Philippines visa.
