Húsavík
Popularly known as the whale capital of the world, The town of Húsavík is a dreamy place as it is set on the eastern shore of Shaky Bay. It is also home to the first house ever built in Iceland. This small yet pristine city and its near surroundings offer a uniquely wide assortment of attractions, both natural and cultural. The sightseeing spots tell stories of the past and how the development has taken place since then in the town. There is also no risk of getting bored owing to the plethora of activities that can be done here like whale watching, bathing and swimming in pools and geothermal springs, bird watching, hiking, etc.
By Air
Húsavík has its own airport, however flights are rather infrequent. You can also fly to Akureyri Airport and drive down for an hour to this tranquil town.
By Road
There are 3 roads that can take you to Husavik- road nos. 85, 845 and 87.
