By Air – The Athens International Airport is located in Sparta at a distance of 27 km from the main city. This airport is well connected to all the major international cities and a lot of budget airlines operate on this route. Grecian airlines like Astra Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, and Sky Express are common ones that operate here. From the airport, you can hire a taxi to reach your destination in Athens city.
By Train
Athens Railway Station is also known as Larissa Station. It connects to the metro, the suburban train line and other tourist destinations in Greece. This real head serves North and Central Greece where Larissa and Thessaloniki are the main stations and goes southwards along the older line of Piraeus to Platy. Athens is well connected by rail to major Eastern European countries like Istanbul, Belgrade, Sofia, Budapest, Bucharest etc.
By Road
Athens has two bus terminals located at Liossion Street and Kifissou Street respectively from where buses can be boarded to other cities across Greece. Athens can also be reached from other cities in Europe as it is well connected by land but the journeys would be exceedingly long with various bus and route changes as one would travel through many countries' road networks.
