In big cities and tourist places, basic English is understood. You might face trouble in remote areas like Sapa, but people are friendly and helpful. Use apps like Google Translate or carry a small picture guide to make things easier.

It is recommended that you pack light cotton clothes for Da Nang and Phu Quoc, as it is quite warm there. For Sapa, you should carry a jacket, sneakers, and comfy clothes since it’s cooler. Don’t forget your swimsuit, sunglasses, raincoat (if going May–August), and comfy walking shoes.

Take a sunset walk on My Khe Beach, visit Dragon Bridge in the evening, try local seafood, or go café-hopping. If you are into Instagram, there are lots of cool spots for pictures! You can also rent scooters here and ride along the coast.
